Zoning Bylaws are rules for all development in Amherstburg that will need to be considered when constructing a new building. 

The Official Plan (OP) is about how the Town will continue to grow, building on the foundation from past growth management work, and planning for growth into 2046.  The Official Plan assists with:

• growth and development in the municipality
• proactively plans for sustainable growth
• development and asset management while ensuring that our policies conform to the County of Essex. 
• Provincial policy changes, climate changes and economy & community shifts
