This park is located near Amherst Pointe at 164 McLeod Ave. It is named after Warren Mickle, a well-known local nature photographer and lifetime resident of Malden Township, who lived and worked in the area of the parkland.
Warren Mickle Park is located in the flood plain of Big Creek Watershed, and as a result, many areas of the park flood or are wet due to the natural topography of the land and its proximity to Big Creek. This has presented some challenges with respect to park access.

The new playground is OPEN!
The groundbreaking has begun! We look forward to seeing the new playground in Warren Mickle Park come to fruition. Special thanks to Kurt Reffle and his team, who raised funds and presented the Town with a $10,000 cheque towards the completion of the playground.

The Town of Amherstburg is updating the playground equipment at Warren Mickle Park.
The completed 2022 Warren Mickle Park Survey identified the public's desire for eco-themed playground equipment. The purpose of this second survey is to gather specific feedback to ensure the playground structure is engaging and accessible for children of all ages and abilities.
Due to budget constraints, all requested features may not be afforded. Regardless, the Town will design a playground within the budget that best meets the community's needs.
Those completing a hard-copy of the survey, please ensure every question is completed as specified. Incomplete hard-copy surveys cannot be included in the final tally.
Completed hard-copies of the survey can be brought to:
Town Hall, 271 Sandwich Street South or
The Libro Centre, 3295 Meloche Road or
Mailed: Town Hall, 271 Sandwich Street, Amherstburg, ON, N9V 2A5.
All surveys must be received by Monday, February 12, 2023.
