Short-term rental (STR), also referred to as a vacation rental, is a furnished housing unit occupied by a tenant for a short duration (typically less than 29 days), usually for a vacation or business trip.
On September 12, 2022, Council directed Administration to conduct public consultation regarding short-term rentals to determine the community's vision for short-term rentals within our Town. On Monday, April 17, 2023, at 5 pm, a report went to Council, reflecting residents' shared feedback and researched findings regarding Short Term Rentals in Ontario. Compliance Info Session FOR Short-Term Rental OWNERS - Saturday, May 13th, starts promptly at 9 am at The Libro Centre, 3295 Meloche Rd. Thank you to those Short-Term Rental Owners who took the time to participate in the information session.
It is anticipated Short Term Rental owners will be able to apply for their licence in June 2023—dates to be determined.

Please complete the survey in its entirety. If you complete a hard copy of the survey, please ensure every question is completed as specified. Incomplete, hard-copy surveys cannot be included in the final tally. Completed hard copies of the survey can be brought to:
Town Hall, 271 Sandwich Street South
The Libro Centre, 3295 Meloche Road
The deadline to submit surveys is Sunday, January 22, 2023.
In addition to the survey, residents can offer input at the Public Open House on Wednesday, January 18, 5 pm - 7 pm at The Libro Centre, 3295 Meloche Road.
